    I am currently trying to find a good Level Artist to integrate the team for the next project, we are also in need of a Lighting Artist, and Particle Artist.

    You will be working next to the Art Director and you’ll be working with the small group in charge of the overall artistic look of the game. That being said, I’m looking for people with experience in these fields or that can provide me with good samples of work and expertise.

    Level Artist:
    Level Artists biggest forte are good eye for detail and composition, and knowing the tech well to achieve this.
    Knowing a 3D package is a huge plus (Especially 3DsMax) and basic texturing skills. (Photoshop)

    Senior Level Artists have an important role at DICE when it comes to compose and generate the graphic elements of the world. They have a big impact on the level design and game play since they are responsible for adapt design to focus tests. They are responsible for placing, world sculpting and in some projects also lighting and colour correction. Senior Level Artists are responsible for final user experience, both visual and game play quality. An important role is to coach and mentor Level Artists with object placing, lighting, color correction, world sculpting.

    We are looking for level designers who can hit the ground running. We expect you to conceive and execute level ideas that shock, immerse, amaze and create an experience that blows gamers’ minds. No applicants will be considered who aren’t able to demonstrate they’ve got the skills to build industry-changing levels.

    Responsibilities:

    You will be responsible for conceiving, documenting and tuning a number of different levels. Additionally, you will be required to work with our design tools to implement game mechanics or parameters. This position requires you to coordinate with artists and programmers to create levels that are second to none in the industry.

    You must be familiar with the current state of the art in game design across a wide range of genres on both PC and console. You must be capable of analyzing and critiquing game designs and levels. We expect you to be familiar with BioShock and other 2K Boston/Irrational products and be able to speak critically about them.

    Finally, there are a wide variety of miscellaneous other tasks associated with this position such as speaking at conferences, working on game documentation and manuals and occasional PR duties.

    Designers are expected to work in a collaborative team environment in the development of entertaining and cinematic game play experiences. They are responsible for the documentation and world construction of these experiences. Working with game play scripters, animators, artists, sound design and programmers, they are responsible for the implementation and tuning of the game play experience.

    Applicants should provide specific examples of relevant work. These examples can be in the form of playable game levels, screenshots, scripting examples, video captures, or any other method that conveys the work being demonstrated. Examples should also include descriptions of exactly what the applicant is responsible for and what creative processes were used.


    Requirements:

Certain Affinity is an exclusive Austin studio; we’re a tightly-knit group of experienced industry veterans. We’ve co-developed multiple products for the Call of Duty and Halo franchises, as we’ve launched a few of our own games as well.

    As a Senior Lighting Artist at Certain Affinity, you’ll get the chance to create stunning lighting for some of the world’s biggest shooters.

    If you’ve done some compelling lighting work, are eager to make an impact in the field of real-time lighting for games, and are open new challenges, we’d like to hear from you.

    The Senior Lighting Artist will:

    - Work with Art Director, Concept Artists, and Senior Environment Artists to design a lighting plan which will support gameplay and provide a strong value structure for visually rich real-time worlds.
    - Work with real-time and baked lighting in both proprietary engines and common industry tools such as UDK.
    - Document techniques and creative approaches
    - Hands-on, doing the lighting work in-game.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    - 5+ years as an artist in the game industry, with 3+ years experience as a Lighting artist
    - 1+ titles where you lit at least 30% of the maps
    - Experience using proprietary tools and editors
    - Experience establishing and driving new workflows for lighting
    - Bachelors degree in Art or related field
